We are incredibly proud to announce that following our recent review in March 2026, Rebecca Cheetham Nursery School and Children’s Centre has successfully retained its status as an Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Flagship school. This rare and prestigious designation is awarded only to schools that demonstrate an unwavering commitment to outstanding inclusive practice.

An "Oasis of Calm"

During the visit, the assessor described our nursery as an "oasis of calm" with a "palpable sense of purpose". The report highlighted that inclusion at Rebecca Cheetham is not just a policy, but is "natural and pervasive," with a deep-rooted culture where every child is valued. The environment was praised for being "warm, safe, and stimulating," allowing children to feel secure as they explore and learn.

Leading with Heart and Expertise

The review recognized our "dedicated and reflective" leadership team and our highly skilled staff. Our educators were commended for being "excellent role models" who provide high-quality interactions that help children become independent, resilient, and joyful learners. The report noted that equity is at the core of our work, ensuring that early identification and tailored support are provided for all children.

A Partnership with Our Families

We are particularly touched by the feedback from our parents. Families shared with the assessor that they feel "completely supported" and described the nursery’s help as "invaluable," particularly for those navigating the SEND and EHCP processes. This strong partnership is a cornerstone of our success, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

Innovative Learning: "A Journey into Independence"

The assessor was also impressed by our ongoing Flagship project, "A Journey into Independence". This initiative focuses on empowering our children to lead their own learning, specifically enhancing their mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills through play and exploration.

Being an IQM Flagship school means we are committed to sharing our best practices with other educators and constantly striving to improve.
