The 5th Annual Newham Nursery Schools Early Years Conference

We are so proud to be part of the organising committee of one of the must-see events of the Early Years calendar.

Our staff had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 5th Annual Early Years Conference organised by the Newham Nursery Schools during our Inset Day on January 10th 2020.

We think it’s important that you know what we get up to on these very important training days for our staff.

The conference ran over two days and attracted Early Years professionals from all over the country.  The day offered an impressive list of key note speakers and a huge variety of workshops giving practical advice on specific areas of innovation in the early years.

The conference was opened by The Mayor of Newham, Rokhsana Fiaz and Deputy Mayor of London, Joanne McCartney.

Experts in the early years arena were invited to give advice and provoke thinking around developing curriculum for children. Jan Dubiel, an internationally renowned expert in Early Childhood education was on hand to open the conference and delegates also got to hear from Ofsted, the Education Endowment Foundation, along with some home grown talent who offered their thoughts on a research project they had been working on relating to metacognition.

We delivered our own workshop where we discussed developing wellbeing within the school and how that enhances children’s experiences at school.
